COMMITTEE’S INVITATION
Dear Colleague,
Come
and celebrate our 30th birthday in the buzzing city of
gold, Johannesburg. We are delighted to extend a cordial
invitation for you to attend our 15thth Biennial Congress.
Jozi - as it is known to the locals-offers the you a
wide range of cultural activities, scenic tours, shopping,
and visits to historic sites. We sincerely hope you will
be part of the Congress and look forward to seeing you
in Jozi in 2007.
The Congress should be a fruitful exchange of scientific
knowledge between primary care providers, physicians,
super-specialists, researchers and academics from a wide
range of fields. The programme includes an Update Course
for Primary Care Providers and a two day scientific
meeting. The Update Course will include short informative
talks on cardiovascular risk assessment, treatment of
hyperlipidaemia, obesity, stroke, BP measurement, and
case studies by local and international speakers.
On Monday 28th May in recognition of the vital
role that nurse's play in the management of hypertension,
there is a special Hypertension Nurses' Education Day.
The Scientific Meeting includes:
- State of the Art lectures by local and international
speakers
- Industry Sponsored Symposia
- Original Scientific presentations and
- Case Studies.
The Scientific Committee has organized the conference around
several themes including metabolic syndrome, lifestyle,
diabetes, cardiac hypertrophy, renal disease and genetic
aspects.
While the programme content is the responsibility of
the Scientific Committee, we are delighted to collaborate
with the local primary care health providers. The purpose
of the collaboration is to ensure a quality programme
targeted on your needs. Researchers are invited to submit
original papers for consideration for oral or poster presentation
as determined by the Scientific Committee.
Lower registration fees are available for members, public
sector registrars, nurses and pharmacists. A limited number
of bursaries are available to SAHS members. Accommodation
is offered for a wide range of budgets.
